AEK Athens will have an uphill battle on their hands in the first leg of
their Europa League (EL) round-of-32, when they host an in-form Dynamo

The ‘draw specialist’ hosts qualified second from Group D behind AC
Milan with eight points, after staying unbeaten in the campaign. That
was the joint-lowest tally of the 24 qualifiers, but they remained one
of just four qualifiers to go undefeated. The other three qualified as

Dynamo cruised through their Group B with two games to spare, eventually
ending up with five points more than their nearest group qualifiers.
They scored 15 goals in the group stage, a return that was bettered only
by Zenit (17) and Real Sociedad (16).

AEK are on a 22-match unbeaten run (W15, D7) in all competitions with
their last loss coming way back in October ’17. In Europe, they are on
an eight-match unbeaten run (W2, D6) with five consecutive draws
highlighting their run.

The visitors have kept five clean sheets in their last six trips in all
competitions. The worry for Dynamo, though, is the fact that their last
competitive fixture was in December ’17.

Key battles: AEK will hope that Lazaros Christodoulopoulos continues his
good form – three goals in his last four outings.

Moraes (Dynamo) has five goals to his name in the last three games for
the club.

Stat attack: AEK kept five clean sheets in their last eight EL games.

This is the first time in four attempts that AEK have qualified from the
group stage to the knockouts.

This is the first European encounter between these sides. AEK have never
faced a Ukrainian team before while Dynamo have a positive record
against Greek clubs, although two of their wins came in the mid-1970s.

Olympiako Stadio Spyros Louis will host Thursdays football match between
AEK Athens and Dynamo Kiev, who face each other in the first leg of the
Europa League last 32. The Yellow-Blacks have been producing thrilling
displays in both Greek Super League and Europa League this term and they
are certainly high on confidence ahead of the visit of Dynamo Kiev. AEK
are undefeated in last eight games in the Europa League and we predict
that they are going to extend their unbeaten run. The Ukrainians, on the
other hand, often struggle on the travels in European competitions and
that is yet another reason why we are positive the hosts are going to
emerge triumphant in the first leg. Former Las Palmas attacker Sergio
Araujo, who has netted two goals in the process to date, is likely to
lead the line for the hosts and the opposition defenders should have him
at bay.
